Potty Training Day 1

After today, who knows if there will be a day two for potty training. Okay, okay, it wasn't a "so many accidents that what is the point of washing my hands, I'll just clean it up again in 30 seconds" kind of day. It was just.... LONG! No-one gives potty training enough credit for being one of the worst things about parenting. For me, it was super long because she was CONSTANTLY wanting to go. It was like it was all of a sudden fun, which is great, but I didn't want it to be this fun. Now with her new-found realization that she is a big girl, she thinks she needs to do everything by herself.

Some of the new things she think she can do now with the power of panties:

  • Get her own potty treats
  • Wipe her own bum
  • Get her own toilet paper (that was fun)
  • Wash her hands by herself
  • Get undressed completely
  • Get into and start her own bath in mommy's tub (which she only turned on hot and almost really burned herself- scary!)
  • Get dressed with no help
  • No longer needs to take a nap
  • All of her stuffed animals and babies also needed to use the potty. She would help them sit and talk to them then look in the toilet and get excited that they peed.

As far as going potty- she did awesome. She went about 8 times and only had 1 accident all morning and that happened as we were running to the potty. During nap time she peed twice, but also yelled to me that she needed to go. Then the excitement slightly wore off in the evening and we had to do a diaper during dinner while the panties were all being washed. Really hoping tomorrow will be better. Lets cross our fingers.
